Description
These coin purses are a must here in Peru! Everyone uses small zippered pouches like this for change, cash, odds and ends. These are made from pieces of backstrap-woven cloth, which in turn is made from handspun, naturally-dyed yarn, by the weavers of the Asociacion de Tejedoreas Away Riqcharicheq de Chinchero — Chinchero’s oldest weaving association and the first member group of the Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco.
How big are they? The easiest way to tell is by looking at the zipper for scale. The zipper pulls are all 2.5 cm or about 1 inch long.
