I’m so happy to see all your great pictures. This was my first SOAR too, & I hope I can go back often. I’ve tried to explain to my friends where I went & what it was like but you did a much better job. Maybe next time I’ll stay up a little later & join in some of the excitement.

Ohhh I’m so jealous! I was very fortunate to win a scholarship to SOAR in 2004. It was the most amazing fiber experience of my life. Ever since, all I’ve done is try to figure out a way to go again. I’m really hoping to go in 2008. I too had planned to email people and all. Needless to say it never happened LOL! I had the privilege to sit at Judith’s feet (literally LOL!) and listen to her talk about restoring textiles all over the world, and even ask questions. It was amazing. I have to tell ya though, they didn’t warn me about the scholarship intros and stuff. It took me totally by surprise. I’m so glad you had such a great time.

I had a great time hanging out with you at SOAR. I still can’t help but laugh when I think of the stupid yarn tricks. I have a lot more pictures, including the earlier two tricks.

I’m the one in the purple top in the picture, including the one making the funny face. Usually I’m the one that blinks.

I can’t say I feel like I was there because I didn’t get to learn stuff. But I do feel like I got to get to know a few people. Thanks so much for your post. Those are the kind of memories that you should get to have and that those of us who didn’t envy.
